Your receipts
stay on your phone.
And nowhere else.

01What we hold

Stow is an iOS app for storing receipts, warranties, vouchers, and gift cards. Everything you capture stays on your device, with an optional encrypted copy in your own private iCloud. We never see any of it.

This policy covers the Stow iOS app specifically. For the umbrella TR Studios privacy stance, see the main privacy policy.

What Stow stores

  • Photos you snap of receipts, warranties, vouchers, or gift cards.
  • The text Apple's VisionKit reads off those photos. This text is searchable later inside Stow.
  • The structured fields you confirm or enter yourself — vendor, date, amount, card numbers, warranty length, notes.
  • Your reminder schedule (days before expiry; whether reminders are on at all).
  • Whether you've made the optional one-time in-app purchase to unlock unlimited items.

Where Stow stores it

On your device. All data is held in a local SwiftData store on your iPhone, including the photos themselves. The OCR text is held there too.

In your iCloud, privately. If you're signed into iCloud, Stow mirrors your library to your private CloudKit container. Apple encrypts this in transit and at rest. We do not operate any server, do not run any analytics pipeline, and have no way to read your iCloud data — that container is bound to your Apple ID, not ours.

What Stow does not do

  • No account. You never sign up for a TR Studios account; Stow uses your existing iCloud sign-in if you have one.
  • No analytics. No screen-view tracking, no session metrics, no crash telemetry, no event pipeline.
  • No third-party SDKs. No ad networks, no behavioural tracking, no growth tools.
  • No data ever leaves your devices except into your own private iCloud, as above.

OCR happens on your device

When you snap a receipt, Stow uses Apple's VisionKit to read the text. This runs entirely on your iPhone — no image is uploaded to TR Studios or anyone else for processing. The recognised text is held alongside the photo so you can search it later inside Stow.

In-app purchase

Stow's optional "Unlimited" unlock is a single non-consumable in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple's App Store via StoreKit. We receive a transaction confirmation that you bought it; we do not receive your payment details, card number, or Apple ID.

Reminders

When reminders are enabled, Stow schedules local iOS notifications via UNUserNotificationCenter. These run on your device. No notification content or schedule is sent anywhere external.

Deleting your data

  • An item. Swipe-delete in the Library, or open the item and tap Delete.
  • Everything on this device. Delete the Stow app from your home screen.
  • Everything in iCloud. iOS → Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Stow → Delete Data.

Children

Stow is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Material changes — any new form of data handling — will also be flagged inside the app.
